The White Sox never had a losing record when Al Lopez was the manager (1957 to 1965 and 1968 to 1969). Lopez led the Sox to the American League pennant in 1959 and finished second five times during his tenure in Chicago. He was elected to the Hall of Fame as a manager in 1977.
