        <description><![CDATA[Jefferson Davis (June 3, 1808 ¿ December 6, 1889) was an American politician who served as President of the Confederate States of America for its entire history from 1861 to 1865 during the American Civil War.  After Davis was captured in 1865, he was charged with treason, but not convicted. His last home, Beauvoir House, and the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library, are located in Biloxi, MS. His burial site is Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond.]]></description>
